Washington Capitals sign forward Christian Hanson

The Capitals have signed center Christian Hanson, who should compete for a roster spot with the American Hockey League’s Hershey Bears, a team spokesman confirmed.

Hanson, 25, is listed at 6-4, 228 and recorded 13 goals and 21 assists for the Toronto Marlies last season. Christian is the son of Dave Hanson, who is widely known for his role in ‘Slapshot’.

An official announcement of the signing is expected on Monday.
