Justin Anderson, Montrose Christian’s highly regarded small forward, officially announced Thursday that he is switching his oral commitment from Maryland to Virginia. The 6-foot-5 wing player pledged to join Tony Bennett’s 2012 recruiting class via a press release issued by his high school.

After giving an oral commitment to Maryland in March, Anderson re-opened his recruitment following the announcement May 5 that long-time Terrapins coach Gary Williams was retiring.

Anderson joins a Virginia 2012 recruiting class that also includes 6-foot-7 small forward Evan Nolte and 6-foot-11 center Mike Tobey.

The Post’s Josh Barr spoke with Anderson a short while ago and relays the conversation on Recruiting Insider.
