Bam Margera cried openly at the scene where his best friend Ryan Dunn died in a car accident Monday.

“I've never lost anybody that I care about. He’s my best friend,” the extremely emotional MTV star told Fox 29 in Philadelphia. The skateboarder, best known for appearing with Dunn on “Jackass” and “Viva La Bam,” said he began destroying the windows and speakers of a rental van when he heard the news in Arizona. “He was the happiest person, the smartest guy with so much talent,” Margera said of his late friend.

Dunn and his passenger, Zachary Hartwell, were killed when his Porsche, which police say may have been traveling at 140 mph, jumped a guard rail on Route 322 in Pennsylvania and burst into flames. The impact of the crash and the fire were both cited in their autopsy reports. Dunn tweeted a picture of himself at a bar the night of the crash. A toxicology report, released Wednesday, revealed Dunn’s blood-alcohol content was twice the legal limit in Pennsylvania.

On Tuesday, Margera ripped into film critic Roger Ebert for tweeting, “Friends don’t let jackasses drink and drive.” After receiving death threats and having his Facebook account temporarily suspended, Ebert apologized for the timing of the tweet.
