Many commenters on the site thought so, and now we know the band does too.

Bloomberg reports that Dan Auberbach and Patrick Carney have sued Yum Brands Inc.’s Pizza Hut, as well as Home Depot Inc., for using its music in commercials without permission.

The Pizza Hut commercial allegedly used “Gold on the Ceiling” for a Cheesy Bites Pizza ad, according to Bloomberg, and Home Depot allegedly used “Lonely Boy” to sell power tools.

Both songs are from the band’s seventh album “El Camino. “

Brian Burton, a.k.a. Danger Mouse, is also named as a plaintiff, according to Bloomberg. He is credited as a songwriter and co-producer on “El Camino.”

A Home Depot spokesman told Bloomberg they haven’t seen the case and Yum Brands didn’t comment.

The Black Keys will play several music festivals this summer. The rock duo will begin recording a new album in July.
