Bam Margera was visibly distraught as he visited the scene where Ryan Dunn, his best friend and “Jackass” compadre, died in a car accident Monday. Since Dunn’s death, the skateboarder has been receiving many kind words from fans and friends. And, apparently, from Brad Pitt.

While this may seem completely random, it isn’t. Pitt appeared with Margera on MTV’s “Jackass” in the 2002 sketch “The Abduction,” in which the Oscar-nominated actor pretended to get kidnapped.

Margera was involved in a brief, yet nasty Twitter argument with film critic Roger Ebert, who tweeted, “Friends don’t let jackasses drive drunk.” A toxicology report revealed that Dunn’s blood-alcohol content was twice the legal limit when his Porsche, which may have been driving at 130 mph, flew off a Pennsylvania road and caught fire. Dunn’s passenger, Zachary Hartwell, was also killed.
