Charlize Theron acts immature in trailer for ‘Young Adult’

Two years ago, writer/director Jason Reitman gave us “Up in the Air,” the Academy Award-nominated romantic comedy about a guy (George Clooney) who resists personal and professional change. Now Reitman has a new movie on the horizon called ”Young Adult,” a romantic comedy about a divorcee (Charlize Theron) who has opted to resist behaving like a grown-up.

Based on the trailer, which arrived online Thursday, Theron’s character actually may have more in common with Jason Bateman’s rock-star-wannabe man-child in “Juno.” And that makes sense, since Diablo Cody, who write the Reitman-directed “Juno,” is the scribe behind “Young Adult.”

Check out the preview for the film, which releases in December and looks pretty promising.

When she isn’t at a movie theater or writing about movies, Jen Chaney is ... um ... probably at home, watching a movie.
