Celebrity birth announcements always come in twos.
Actually, they don’t. That’s a myth, kind of like the one about celebrity deaths coming in threes. But the past 24 hours just so happens to have given us a pair of stories about famous actors expecting babies, so let’s run with that ridiculous “they come in pairs” theory for now.
Now to the crucial info: “Homeland” star Claire Danes and husband Hugh Dancy, seen most recently in “Hysteria,” are expecting their first child, according to People magazine — the nation’s foremost authority on celebrity pregnancies. A rep for Danes, 33, confirmed the news to the magazine.
It’s unclear how far along Danes is, but People’s report indicates that her pregnancy did not impact the story arc of her character, addled CIA agent Carrie Mathison, during recent production of “Homeland’s” second season. The actress formerly known as Angela Chase on “My So-Called Life” and Dancy, 37, were married in 2009.
Celebrity pregnancy announcement No. 2 comes courtesy of “Magic Mike” star Matthew McConaughey and his wife, Camila McConaughey (formerly Alves). The couple married last month but already have two children — daughter Vida, 2, and son Levi, 3. Now, they are expecting a third.
McConaughey tweeted the news in classic McConaughey-as-Wooderson-in-“Dazed and Confused” fashion Wednesday afternoon.
