Connie Britton has received Emmy nominations for her portrayal of an undeniably fantastic mother, Tami Taylor of “Friday Night Lights.”

Now the actress is playing the role in real life.

People reports that Britton, 44, has adopted a 9-month-old baby boy from Ethiopia. The boy’s name is Yoby, according to the magazine, a nickname for Eyob.

The actress — currently struggling with perhaps the most horrifying pregnancy in TV history on “American Horror Story” — could not sound more gleeful about her new status as mom, a status she waited to attain during a three-year adoption process.

“It was such a wonderful moment of completion,” she told the magazine about holding her child for the first time. “I thought I was going to collapse into a puddle of tears. I was just grinning from ear to ear.”
