‘Dark Knight Rises’ Batmobiles hit the Pittsburgh streets (Video)

“Dark Knight Rises” enthusiasts, start your engines.

Three camouflaged Batmobile Tumblers drove through the streets of Pittsburgh over the weekend, where “The Dark Knight Rises” is filming. In case you are a non-nerd, the “Tumbler” is a military vehicle modified for the Caped Crusader by Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman) in 2005’s “Batman Begins.”

Production for Christopher Noaln’s third Batman film kicked off last week in the city. “We’ll be fighting in your streets a great deal,” Christian Bale said a the news conference. “Thank you so much for your generosity of spirit and hospitality ahead of time.”

The first pictures of Tom Hardy as the villain Bane have also hit the Web, beginning what promises to be a barrage of tidbits from the set.

Update: Holy fight scene, Batman! Check out this photo of a Batsuit sporting Bale fighting Bane, courtesy of E! Online.
