As expected, everyone glammed up appropriately, perhaps most notably the royal couple themselves, who looked, not surprisingly, pretty impeccable. So who were the best- and worst-dressed stars at the much-buzzed-about gala?

In a flowy Alexander McQueen gown highlighting a waist that might be teenier than the head of your average pin, Duchess Catherine looked elegant and flawless.
The actress, currently appearing in “Larry Crowne,” was a stunner in royal blue.
The spokes-singer for Cotton (whose voice will soon be heard in “Winnie the Pooh”) opted for a shimmery, gold, tea-length dress by Oscar de la Renta. As always, so sweet and darling she causes cavities.
