‘Glee’ star Chris Colfer will write novels for young readers

Actor Chris Colfer. (Joshua Roberts/BLOOMBERG)

The 21-year-old “Glee” star has signed a two-book deal with Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. “The Land of Stories,” in which twin brothers are transported to a magical world through a book, is due in summer 2012 and a follow-up novel will be released sometime later. He will somehow find time to do write said books while traveling the world for “Glee Live!” and filming the Fox show that made him famous.

Struggling writers out there may wonder if Colfer’s ability to hit really high notes makes him qualified to write a book? As it turns out, Colfer’s more than just a singing/dancing/acting machine. He’s working on a pilot for the Disney Channel, “The Little Leftover Witch,” and wrote a movie, “Struck By Lightening,” which he will star in. Meanwhile, I’m tired just reading about all of this.
