Previous awards show red carpets and movie premieres have established an important fact: No one amps up the drama for photographers quite like Lea Michele.
But on the red carpet at this year’s Golden Globes, Ms. Rachel Berry ran into some serious posing competition from Paula Patton, co-star of “Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol” and a woman who, quite possibly, pulled a crucial vamping muscle as a result of her efforts Sunday night.
Which one worked that red carpet photo line harder? Let’s go to the pictures.
Paula Patton, doing the lean-forward.
Lea Michele: “Please. I invented that lean.”
Paula Patton: “What, me sexy?”
Lea Michele: “No, no, no. This is how to look surprised by one’s own sexiness.”
Paula Patton: “I call this the ‘I’m hot. I know it. But I have secrets,’ move. Top that, 'Glee’ girl.”
Lea Michele: “No problem, Mrs. Robin Thicke. Allow me to introduce you to ... my back.”
Paula Patton: “Fine. But can you do this fake kiss-blowing thing with such a precisely bent wrist?”
Lea Michele: “Probably, since I do this stuff in my sleep. Seriously, I dream of blowing kisses at Vanity Fair photographers and popping one knee just ... like ... this.”
Paula Patton: “Oh, you. You really are good at this.”
Lea Michele: “Oh, believe me, I know it. And one more thing...”
“... did you see my back?”
