Hugh Grant has become a father for the first time.

The star of such film as “Four Weddings and a Funeral,” “About a Boy” and “Love, Actually” welcomed a daughter last month.

Grant’s spokeswoman confirmed the news to Reuters: “I can confirm that Hugh Grant is the delighted father of a baby girl. He and the mother had a fleeting affair and while this was not planned, Hugh could not be happier or more supportive. He and the mother have discussed everything and are on very friendly terms.”

The mother’s identity has not been revealed. Grant was dating Tinglan Hong, an actress, as recently as April of this year, according to the Daily Mail.

The baby girl is the first child for Grant, 51, who has never married but was involved in a high-profile relationship with Elizabeth Hurley for 13 years.

Grant was last seen onscreen opposite Sarah Jessica Parker in 2009’s “Did You Hear About the Morgans?,” a rom-com met with dismal reviews and box-office returns. His name also surfaced as a potential replacement for Charlie Sheen on “Two and a Half Men.” He’ll be seen — or rather, heard — next as one of the voices in “The Pirates! Band of Misfits,” an animated family adventure due out next year.
