Kate Gosselin may get the dating show she’s always wanted

Well, it appears her wish might be coming true.

The former reality star, divorced mother of eight and avid coupon blogger has signed on to star in a docu-quest to find a man, E! News reports. The series has not been picked up by a network yet, so it’s possible we’ll never see it. But by God, that’s not stopping Gosselin from making sure cameras follow her around on dates.

“She finds it hard to meet men in her day-to-day life,” a source, who I suspect is Gosselin’s publicist, told E! “... A dating show will give her exactly the help she needs. She is willing to travel around the country in order to meet Mr. Right.”

She is willing. I can only imagine the severe arm-twisting involved in getting Gosselin to arrive at such a willing mental state.

People magazine is conducting an online survey that asks readers whether they are interested in watching the equivalent of “Kate Plus 8” meets “Blind Date.” So far, 79 percent say no.

I’d suggest that Celebritology readers share comments about what they think but: a) I pretty much already know what they think, and b) I suspect that snarky comments already are being posted, no invitation necessary.

When she isn’t at a movie theater or writing about movies, Jen Chaney is ... um ... probably at home, watching a movie.
