Kate Gosselin on ‘Plus 8’ finale: ‘It's the end of an era’ (Video)

Kate Gosselin’s time on television is coming to an end. Tonight TLC will air the series finale of “Kate Plus 8,” a show that originally followed the child rearing of Kate and Jon Gosselin and, later, turned into a tabloid circus as the couple’s marriage dissolved on camera.

On Monday’s “Today” show, the mother of eight said she was a little relieved, but mostly sad that the reality series was over.

“I feel sad for my kids because of all of the opportunities that they’re now questioning,” she told Matt Lauer. “I feel sad for fans because they’re devastated. They’re saying, you know, you’re the neighbor moving far away and we won’t see you again.”

The former “Dancing With the Stars” contestant also repeated fears that she does not have a next career move. “Kate Plus 8” was canceled in August, just a week after Gosselin told Ann Curry she knew nothing of a possible cancellation

Despite all the hatred that’s been directed at her decision to put her children in the public eye, Gosselin said she would consider putting her kids on TV again. In the meantime, the “devastated” fans can keep up with the Gosselins on the single mom’s new Web site,
