Kate Gosselin, noted bad dancer and mother to many children, appeared on the “Today” show this morning and denied rumors that her reality show, “Kate Plus 8,” is getting the ax.

“Nobody has told me,”Gosselin said of the alleged cancellation. “We’re happy to continue on and will do so as long as people are watching.”

(Perez Hilton recently questioned the show’s fate when it didn’t appear on TLC’s fall schedule, but a network exec reportedly said the show is staying put.)

Should plans change, it seems Gosselin’s search for a man could be her next reality enterprise.

“I'm definitely ready to start dating,” she told Ann Curry. “I think there’s a lot of obstacles for me.” Yes, in a perfect world Gosselin said she’d like to simply “bump into” a person willing to date her. But her public life makes that difficult. (That “bump into” idea might explain what she recently did at Georgetown Cupcake while filming an episode of “Kate Plus 8.”)

Instead, she wants her best friend to go around the country to find eligible suitors (hint, hint). Her “fantastic” kids are into the idea. “I’m hoping that person is out there, because the kids on a daily basis are just begging me to get married again.”
