Kim Kardashian talks to Oprah Winfrey about Kanye West, sounds surprisingly genuine

I know we just wrapped up a lively Celebritology discussion in which some of you suggested we should spend less time in this blog on reality stars like Kim Kardashian. I heard your feedback. I did.

But I still couldn’t resist posting this clip (see below) of Kardashian discussing her romance with Kanye West on “Oprah’s Next Chapter” because, if you can get over your inevitable fixation on the slush of pink gloss slathered on Kardashian’s lips and actually listen to what she’s saying, she sounds pretty genuine about her affection for the hip-hop star. Yes, I am just as surprised as you are.

Of course, the preview clip cuts off before Winfrey can get an answer to her question about how this relationship started. We also don’t see the former Queen of Afternoon Talk pose another query that, based on a preview of Sunday’s “Next Chapter” episode, comes up later in the interview: Is this relationship a publicity stunt? You’ll have to tune in to OWN at 8 p.m. on Sunday to find out. Which of course you won’t do because you don’t care about Kim Kardashian even though you clicked on this post, read this far and will watch the video clip that appears below. Hey, man, clearly I’m not here to judge.

When she isn’t at a movie theater or writing about movies, Jen Chaney is ... um ... probably at home, watching a movie.
