The always fashionable, usually pantless singer reportedly applied for an internship with the milliner in May, and now Treacy tells the Guardian that Gaga actually “plans to” do it.

“She's already visited me,” he said, before telling the story of her arrival: “One Monday morning, four burly bodyguards arrived — Lady Gaga's security team — to check out the security of the building. I looked at them as if to say: ‘What?! Who is going to take a pot shot at Lady Gaga?’ ”

Like Gaga, Treacy has been criticized for his fashions. While beloved by some, Princess Beatrice’s fascinator was called a number of rude words, and he told the Guardian it got to him. “I felt hurt for her. She is only 22 and there was a little bit of bullying going on,” he said. “In the future, we'll look back and think she looked wild.” He can take comfort in the fact that that hat brought in over $130,000 for charity on Ebay.

As for his new intern, he called Gaga “young, talented and peculiar — which I like.”

“The Brit awards were the next night and she said to her people (I loved this): ‘Can somebody buy me some brown underwear for tomorrow?’ ”

A match made in avant garde heaven.
