Lindsay Lohan was extremely open about her past mistakes on last night’s “Tonight Show with Jay Leno.” But there was one subject she didn’t want to discuss: her father.

“Of course the situation with your dad — I don’t quite understand that, it’s a little odd,” Leno said referring to dad Michael Lohan’s at times bizarre and immature public behavior. “I plead the Fifth on that,” Lohan said, borrowing a term from the legal system she knows all too well.

“I feel like I’ve let a lot of my fans down by putting myself in situations when I was young and wasn’t thinking clearly,” Lohan said, adding that she just wants to makes movies and be in the entertainment industry. She even hopes to win an Oscar by the time she turns 30.
