Martha Stewart’s dog is a Westminster champ — naturally

Stewart’s chow chow, Ghenghis Khan, won best in breed at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. He will now compete with the non-sporting group Monday and if he wins that, best in show on Tuesday evening.

(Tragically, Stewart’s first chow chow also named Ghenghis Khan died in an explosion at a Pennsylvania kennel in 2009.

At the event, seen in this video created by Buzzfeed, Stewart watches ringside as Ghenghis walks in a circle. After his win, Stewart applauds, smiles and high fives. Sure, it's not very exciting. But it is very cute.

After the win, Stewart tweeted, “Ghenghis khan did it! Best of Breed at Westminster!!!!Big Deal.” She included this picture of the champ.

(Note: Stewart spells Ghenghis’s name as written in this post, while Westminster lists his name as “Genghis.”)

Update: A dalmatian beat Ghenghis Khan in the non-sporting group event. There’s always next year, Martha!
