“Dirty White Boy” will tell the story of ODB’s friendship with Jarred Weisfeld, “a 22-year-old VH1-intern-turned-manager, and his misadventures with the legendary rapper leading up to the performer’s tragic death in 2004,” according to a press release. Weisfeld, who is now a manager at a literary management and production company called Objective Entertainment, is cooperating with the film.

(As Entertainment Weekly points out, Weisfeld can be seen in this VH1 video at the one-minute mark.)

Cinematographer Joaquin Baca-Asay will make his directorial debut.

Williams is best known for playing President Obama’s favorite character from “The Wire,” Omar Little. He currently stars as Chalky White on HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire.” Is his casting as ODB perfect? Oh, indeed.
