Prince Harry has been deployed to Afghanistan. The royal arrived there Thursday night, according to the BBC. He will serve for four months as an Apache helicopter pilot, participating in combat missions against the Taliban. (BBC)
Kristen Stewart made her first post-cheating scandal public appearance at the Toronto Film Festival Thursday night, where she walked the red carpet prior to the premiere of “On the Road.” She looked great in a Zuhair Murad dress that had a Cate-Blanchett-at-the-1999-Oscars vibe. She didn’t say much about her split from Robert Pattinson , however. The Associated Press reported that when asked how she was doing, she simply said, “I’m doing fine” and walked away. Kerry Washington, Scarlett Johansson and Eva Longoria spoke Thursday at the Democratic National Convention. Sample quote: “The Eva Longoria who worked at Wendy’s flipping burgers, she needed a tax break. But the Eva Longoria who works on movie sets does not.” (Washington Post)

“Dark Knight Rises” director Christopher Nolan, along with wife and co-producer Emma Thomas Nolan and their company Syncopy, have filed a lawsuit against CAA and William Morris Endeavor to determine what commissions he owed to the agency.
