Regis Philbin says ‘Obama’ instead of ‘Osama’ in particularly embarrassing gaffe

It must be pretty embarrassing for people in the media to say President Obama’s name when they mean Osama bin Laden, even though there’s a physiological reason for it. But Regis Philbin took the humiliation factor to a whole new level Monday when referring to a newspaper cover about a certain medication that bin Laden was reportedly using.

“Look who else is taking Viagra. . . . Yeah, Obama,” Philbin said on Monday’s “Live! With Regis and Kelly.” Looking particularly peeved, Kelly Ripa corrected him. Philbin, a little red-faced, tried to set it straight: “Obama. No, no! Osama! Osama! Excuse me, Mr. President. I'm sorry.” Don’t worry Reg, you’re definitely not the only one.
