Robert Pattinson makes sure stocks can be traded today by ringing bell

In keeping with what has unofficially become “Robert Pattinson week,” the “Twilight” star rang the opening bell this morning at the New York Stock Exchange. This means that for the next 24 hours, you should buy Team Edward and sell Team Jacob. It’s also very possible that the S&P 500 is totally going to cheat on us with the Dow Jones Industrial Average, forcing us all to move in with Reese Witherspoon.

At least, that’s my guess right now. Pattinson also was joined in his bell-ringing duties by his ”Cosmopolis” director David Cronenberg, who is known for making films of a rather dark nature. So it’s also quite possible the entire economy is going to crash and then we’re all going to get into an intense naked fight with Viggo Mortensen.

In any case, once video surfaces of this momentous bell-ringing occasion, it shall be posted here.

Update: And here’s the video, which is a little more exciting than your typical CNBC programming because Pattinson is in it.

When she isn’t at a movie theater or writing about movies, Jen Chaney is ... um ... probably at home, watching a movie.
