Although the list might seem like a dubious honor to some, it remains a high-profile platform for women in the entertainment business. Since the list began in 2000, most list-toppers have been well-known celebs, including Katy Perry, Olivia Wilde, Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Simpson and Eva Longoria (twice.) So why did the top spot go to relative newcomer Huntington-Whiteley, a model and star of the upcoming summer blockbuster, “Transformers: Dark of the Moon”?
Joe Levy, Maxim’s editor in chief, weighed in via the magazine’s press office, saying, “Rosie is a true transformer — a Victoria’s Secret stunner who is about to go supernova when she takes over for Megan Fox in the ‘Transformers’ franchise. Her talent is as undeniable as her beauty, which is pretty jaw-droppingly undeniable.”
So it seems Huntington-Whiteley’s impending stardom, as well as her beauty, made her Maxim’s hottest lady. Although we won’t know whether the British model’s acting abilities will be able to propel her into stardom until after “Transformers” is released in July, Maxim’s list is giving Huntington-Whiteley plenty of publicity in the meantime.
