Steve Carell told Ellen DeGeneres that, although he thought he was emotionally prepared to say goodbye to “The Office,” the farewell was “bittersweet.” “I felt like I was a senior, and everyone else was a junior. And I was graduating,” Carell said on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” airing today.

Carell confirmed he would leave the NBC sitcom after six seasons last June. His final episode, which Celebritology celebrated with a quiz, aired Thursday.

So is the funny man having a hard time dealing with his newly found free time? “I’m so great at not having anything to do,” he said. “I think I’m an intrinsically, extremely lazy person.” Carell won’t be able to indulge in his laziness for long. His next film, “Crazy, Stupid, Love,” premieres this July.
