- Very surprising news out of Baltimore on Wednesday when Sonar, one of the city’s major concert venues, announced its immediate closure. A dispute among owners led to the club’s liquor license not being renewed. All shows scheduled for Sonar — which houses three separate stages/mini-venues — are in flux. Last night’s Talib Kweli show was quickly moved to Bourbon Street. The annual Maryland Death Fest, one of the country’s biggest metal festivals, has already stated it has backup plans in place for its Memorial Day weekend extravaganza.
- Make that six weeks at the top of the Billboard charts for Adele, who continues to rack up sales of “21.” She’s expected to remain at the top again next week, with Beastie Boys and Fleet Foxes possibly joining her in the top five.
