D’Angelo covers Soundgarden?; Aretha Franklin gets engaged; Youssou N’Dour runs for president

Is a D’Angelo comeback officially underway? Will he reclaim his millenial abs (pictured)? Will he cover Temple of the Dog ? So many questions! (AP/Fred Prouser)

- Neo-soul-recluse-genius D’Angelo resolves to make a comeback (we hope). In addition to a couple shows he has booked overseas this month, this trippy cover-ish rendition of Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun” sprouted up online over the weekend. Is it legit? It only sounds a little bit like the Soundgarden original, but it sounds like D’Angelo plenty.

- Aretha Franklin resolves to tie the knot. The queen of soul confirmed on Monday that she got engaged over the holidays to longtime friend William “Willie” Wilkerson. It’ll be Franklin’s third marriage.

- African music superstar Youssou N’Dour resolves to run for president of his native Senegal. How big is N’Dour in his homeland? He announced that he’ll be challenging the 11-year rule of Abdoulaye Wade on his own television station.
