The president shared a 24-song playlist on his Facebook page this morning — tunes that he’ll be pumping on the campaign trail between now and election day.

The list is well-populated with Chicago artists, old, young and young-ish — the Impressions, Jennifer Hudson and Wilco among them. Three acts on the playlist performed at a country music celebration at the White House in November: James Taylor, Dierks Bentley and Darius Rucker, who has two songs on the playlist. And no surprise that the POTUS included Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together” after he famously crooned a line from it at the Apollo Theater last month.

The one act we aren’t all that familiar with: Ages and Ages, whose “No Nostalgia” sounds like a 21st century version of a Fleetwood Mac hit that Bill Clinton might have played on the trail in the ’90s. Serious song title irony, Mr. President.

Meantime, in today’s Washington Post, David A. Fahrenthold writes about the the tunes Mitt Romney has been playing on the trail.

Update at 1:42 p.m.: On Facebook, the playlist includes 24 songs. On Spotify, it’s 28 songs total.
