Will the Red Hot Chili Peppers make the Rock Hall? (Photo by Kevin Winter/Getty Images)

Trying to game the Hall of Fame committee is never easy: They're a tight knit, capricious bunch. What follows is our very speculative list of artists we're almost positively sure will make it in this year.

And if you haven’t voted in our poll to pick who is most deserving of enshrinement out of this year’s class, go ahead and do that.

Who: Guns N' Roses

Why: They actually deserve it. And the publicity-loving committee will likely find the lure of a potential GNR reunion (will Axl and Slash accept together? Will Axl pull a John Fogerty and refuse to perform with the original members?) tough to resist.

Who: Laura Nyro

Why: She's been nominated three years in a row, eligible for 19 and dead since 1997. At a certain point, they'll have to let her in. Women are underrepresented in the Hall, anyway (they usually pick one a year), so it's either her or Heart.

Who: War

Why: They've been passed over before, but they're precisely the sort of band the Hall likes to celebrate: pan-racial, political, pedigreed and funky.

Who: The Small Faces/The Faces

Why: They're similarly pedigreed, and just as the Hall likes to snub some artists entirely (no Hall of Fame for you, Rush!), they like to award others repeatedly (Eric Clapton has gotten in three times, and that’s just so far). Former Faces Rod Stewart and Ron Wood are both in the Hall already, which helps their chances this year.

Who: Red Hot Chili Peppers

Why: Every year the committee picks someone the kids will like. That's how the Sex Pistols got in.
