IN THE NAME OF CHARITY, the Otterloops are ready for their close-up.

Team Cul de Sac has just unveiled the beautiful dust jacket for its charity-campaign book, due for release in June.

Edited by Chris Sparks and published by Andrews McMeel, the book will feature artistic contributions from more than 100 cartoonists, who adopt and "channel" Richard Thompson's "Cul de Sac" characters for the book/auction project.

Thompson, who is now on hiatus while he receives physical therapy for Parkinson's, announced the formation of Team Cul de Sac last year to help raise funds for research of the disease. In a guest stint, six top colleagues are currently creating the ”Cul de Sac” strips.

Writer/artist/visual storyteller Michael Cavna is creator of the "Comic Riffs" column and graphic-novel reviewer for The Post's Book World. He relishes sharp-eyed satire in most any form.
