VALENTINE’S DAY CAPTION CONTEST: Enter now by writing this Nick Galifianakis cartoon (*and win the signed art)

YOUR CAPTION HERE: Write a laugh line and enter to win this (signed) Nick Galifianakis print. (NICK GALIFIANAKIS/For The Washington Post )

LAST YEAR, hundreds of you responded smartly/wittily/snark-humorously to Comic Riffs’s second Valentine’s Day Reader Caption Contest. So with V-Day 2014 upon us, we’ve decided to return to the wellspring

With our gratitude, syndicated Carolyn Hax artist Nick Galifianakis — aka “the relationship cartoonist” — was up for an encore performance. (Nick, of course, is the author of the deeply funny book “If You Loved Me, You’d Think This Was Cute: Uncomfortably True Cartoons About You” — with swell preface by Hax; hilarious foreword by cousin Zach Galifianakis.)

So in the spirit of the day, Comic Riffs introduces our third Nick Galifianakis Reader Caption Contest.

Nick drew the original illustration at the top of this blogpost. Write the winning caption and you’ll receive a signed print of the cartoon from Nick himself!

So to enter, there are merely two simple steps:

1. Leave your suggested captions in the Comments below or e-mail them to: (Deadline is 11:59 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21.)

2. Then check back here shortly afterward to see a gallery of the finalists — and Nick’s pick for the best.

Good luck — and happy captioning!
