Mitt Romney’s veepstakes — the Venn diagram

Well, the bizarre jockeying of the spectator sport season known as the Veep Stakes is almost at an end. The field has been winnowed — from a wide array of buzzworthy ticket-fellows to three or four people, who, on average, have the charisma of damp newsprint. Historically, we are reassured, this is the very best level of charisma to have.

But how did we reach this pass?
