Alexandria police search for bank robber

A man in a red and black ski cap robbed a Virginia Commerce Bank in Alexandria Wednesday afternoon, police said.

It happened at about 2:30 p.m. in the 5100 block of Duke Street. The man implied he had a gun and demanded money from a teller, police said. Once he got the cash, he left on foot, heading west on Duke Street.


Alexandria police are looking for this man, who they said robbed a Virginia Commerce Bank in the 5100 Block of Duke Street on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said the man was wearing a red hat with black trim, a black hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and dark boots.
