Tires slashed in Laurel Friday night

Tires were slashed late Friday night on 17 cars in the city of Laurel, authorities said.

Pete Piringer, a spokesman for the city of Laurel police, said the vandalism occurred around 11:30 p.m. outside three businesses, all near Baltimore Avenue or Washington Boulevard.

He said police had identified a person of interest in the slashings. No charges had been brought as of late Saturday.
