Girl, 10, dies in Baltimore house fire

BALTIMORE — Fire officials say a 10-year-old girl died in a house fire in southeast Baltimore.

The girl’s body was found on the first floor of a burning home Saturday evening. Fire officials say seven other occupants escaped the blaze, which broke out around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

Officials say three of the girl’s siblings were taken to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and it’s unclear whether there were working smoke detectors in the home.

The home is in the Dundalk area, near the Baltimore County line.
