30 years for Md. man in child sex abuse case

BALTIMORE — A 32-year-old man who pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a girl from the time she was 5 or 6 years old has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Thomas Leroy Griffin Jr., formerly of Hagerstown and Rosedale, was also ordered to register as a sex offender at sentencing on Friday.

According to his plea agreement, Griffin abused the girl for six years, engaging in sexually explicit conduct with the child to produce a video.

The victim’s mother found a videotape documenting the abuse and notified authorities in 2010.
