Alexandria homicide is first of year

Bob Cory McNeely, 40, of the city of Alexandria was shot to death Thursday in the first homicide in Alexandria this year.

On Friday, Alexandria police identified McNeely as the victim of the shooting that occurred about 10 p.m. Thursday.

McNeely was found in the 1200 block of Wythe Street by police responding to a report of shot being fired.

The investigation continues into McNeely’s death.
