Anacostia High School athletic director charged

Anacostia High School Athletic Director Frank Briscoe has been charged with verbally harassing a 17-year-old female student with “vulgar and lewd” comments over the course of two months last winter, according to court documents.

According to an arrest warrant filed in D.C. Superior Court, Briscoe has been charged with one count of enticing a minor. Briscoe, 60, has coached hundreds of boys and girls in a variety of sports at Anacostia for more than two decades.

The student told police that Briscoe made “sexual advances and inappropriate comments with graphic sexual overtones” beginning December 2010, according to the warrant, and running through late January or early February.

Briscoe, The Post’s 2000 All-Met Girls’ Basketball Coach of the Year, has a preliminary hearing in D.C. Superior Court scheduled for June 7. His wife, Patricia, is assistant director of athletics for the District’s public schools.
