Arrest after fatal morning stabbing in Southeast D.C.

A 28-year-old woman was found fatally stabbed Monday morning in Southeast Washington and another woman was later charged in the killing, police said.

Amber L. Kent, of Southeast, was found bleeding from stab wounds in the 3400 block of 13th Street SE about 9 a.m., police said. They said she was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Shortly after 1:30 p.m., police said, homicide detectives arrested Cydrisse Marcha-Maria Alvin, 31, of Southeast, and charged her with second-degree murder while armed. The motive for the slaying was not immediately clear.
