Arrest made in D.C. double killing

A 24-year-old Silver Spring man has been arrested in the January fatal shooting of two men in Northeast D.C., police said.

Sergio Waynes was held on an unrelated gun charge Monday and subsequently charged with first-degree murder while armed in the killings of Rashid Paul, 27, and D’Angelo Thompson, 28.

Around 7 p.m. on Jan. 23, the pair were found suffering from gunshot wounds in a car in the 100 block of Peabody Street in Northeast D.C. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
