Aspen Hill shooting victim ID’d

Police identified a man fatally shot Wednesday afternoon in an Aspen Hill house as 21-year-old Hugo Yupe of Rockville.

Montgomery County police said two men have been charged in connection with the case.

Christopher Edwards, 20, was charged with second-degree murder and reckless endangerment. Andrew Ramos, 19, was charged with reckless endangerment.

Police said that about 3:20 p.m. Wednesday they received a report of a shooting in the 13200 block of Superior Street. Inside a residence, they found a Yupe dead of a gunshot. Detectives determined that the two suspects were inside at the time of the shooting.

“For reasons still under investigation, the third male was shot,” police said in a news release Thursday.

Edwards remained in the house and summoned help, police said. They said Ramos left the home and eventually was taken into custody.
