Baby injured by falling TV set

A television set fell on a 13-month-old baby in Chantilly, leaving the child with life-threatening injuries, according to Fairfax County police.

It happened at about 1 p.m. Wednesday in an upstairs bedroom in a home in the 4100 block of Chantilly Lace Court.

Someone in the house called 911, and an operator heard screams in the background, said police spokesman Don Gotthardt.

Police and rescue workers arrived at the house at the same time and found the baby, who was not breathing, he said.

It was unclear how the television fell, or how large is was, Gotthardt said.

The baby was flown to a local hospital. Police are investigating the case, which is “standard protocol,” Gotthardt said.
