Barricade outside New Carrollton-area home

A woman who barricaded herself inside a Prince George’s County home after apparently firing shots Friday afternoon was taken into custody after about three hours, police said.

Prince George’s County police officers were first called to the home in the 7400 block of Jefferson Street in West Lanham Hills about 3:25 p.m. and initiated the barricade a shot time later, said Julie Parker, a Prince George’s County police spokeswoman.

A woman at the home had apparently fired a gun and barricaded herself inside, Parker said.

It was unclear where the gun was fired. No injuries were reported.
