BB gun found at Falls Church high school

Police and school officials found a BB gun at a high school in Falls Church on Tuesday morning, Fairfax County police said.

A school resource officer at J.E.B. Stuart High School called for additional officers to investigate about 11 a.m., said Lucy Caldwell, a police spokeswoman. No injuries were reported and police did not release details about how or where the gun was found.

No charges were filed immediately, but police and school officials continue to investigate. School officials sent a letter home to parents to notify them of the incident, Caldwell said.

Just last week, a handgun with live ammunition inside was found at a school in Fairfax County. In that incident, the gun was discovered in a student’s locker at Robinson Secondary School.
