Bel Air teen held in father’s shooting death

BEL AIR, Md. — Authorities are holding a teen accused of fatally shooting his father at their Bel Air home and dumping the body in Aberdeen.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to the home on Monday night for a report that a 16-year-old had shot his father. Deputies found blood and evidence of a shooting and began searching for a vehicle driven by the teen.

Authorities later spotted the vehicle and say the teen led them on a chase that ended with a crash. The teen was arrested, and authorities say he acknowledged shooting his father and dumping the body.

Authorities have not said if they found the body or identified the teen or his father. A sheriff’s spokeswoman says the teen is expected to be charged as an adult.
