Bicyclist hurt in Loudoun crash

A bicylist was seriously injured in Loudoun County Sunday when he was struck by a car that left the scene, the Virginia state police said. A suspect was later arrested and charged, the police said.

They said John M. Washington, 56, of Leesburg was taken to a hospital after being hit about 9:45 a.m. at Ashburn Village Boulevard and Gala Circle in the Ashburn area.

Police said Shayne W. Miller-Westfield, 22, of Ashburn, was found at his place of employment and taken into custody. He was charged with reckless driving and hit-and-run, the state police said.
