Body found in Beltsville park identified

The body of a woman found in a Beltsville park on Wednesday has been identified as a 22-year-old woman from Hyattsville, Prince George’s County police said.

Police said that tips generated from media reports helped authorities identify the woman as Ingrid Lizet Martinez-Alvarez, who lived in an apartment complex in the 7900 block of Riggs Road. Attempts to reach relatives were unsuccessful.

Police said they are investigating the death as a homicide, but a cause of death has not yet been determined. Police would not say whether any injuries were evident on the body, which was found about 8:40 a.m. on Wednesday in a neighborhood park on Montgomery Road.

Police had a released a description of the woman and made public pictures of her many tattoos.
