Body found in Langley Park area

A body was found in the Langley Park area Wednesday afternoon, and Prince George’s County homicide detectives are probing the case-- for now -- as a death investigation, authorities said.

Someone spotted the body in the 1800 block of Jasmine Terrace and called police about 2:30 p.m., said Officer Edward Martin, a Prince George’s County police spokesman. He said he was still seeking other details about the case -- including whether the body was a man or a woman, and what precise area it was found in.

A police source said the body was that of a man, and there were no obvious signs of trauma.

Updates will be provided as they become available.
