Body found on Trinidad playground

A woman picking up tin cans in a playground in Northeast Washington’s Trinidad neighborhood Thursday morning found the nearly naked body of a man, according to D.C. police

Authorities said the discovery was made about 7:40 a.m. near Childress and Holbrook streets NE. Police said the man, pronounced dead at the scene, was lying face up and wearing socks.

Police said there was no obvious signs of trauma on the body, but detectives are awaiting the results of an autopsy to learn the cause of death. Police said the man, yet to be identified, appeared to be about 30 years old.
